International Workshop on "Adaptation to climate change: the role of ecosystem services"

CATIE-Turrialba-Costa Rica, 3-5 November 2008

The workshop are organized for having a view of the state the art in the different aspects involved in the design of adaptation strategies to climate change; sharing experiences from the Latin American region; and building up the basis for a research network on the role of ecosystem services for adaptation to climate change.

Workshop on Validation of Policies for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Hydraulic Resources Sector of Costa Rica


The Ministry of the Environment and Energy (MINAE) in Costa Rica, is organizing a workshop on Adaptation Policy Analysis entitled: "Validation of Policies for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Hydraulic Resources Sector of Costa Rica". The event will take place at the Hotel Corobici, San José on July 13, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The objective of the workshop is to validate required policies to falitate adoption of adaptation measures to climate change within the hydraulic system.

The event is being organized by the National Meteorological Institute of Costa Rica (IMN), and is related to Phase II of the Adaptation to Climate Change Project in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, which is coordinated by MINAE in Costa Rica, through the IMN. The Regional Coordinator of TroFCCA has been invited to participate and will provide details on the results of the event.
