TIME LINE

The list of events and activities below is tentative, and depends on further funding and the interests of the PEN participants.

1. PEN is a six year research project, and can as such be divided into three time periods:

2004-2005	:	Preparatory work
2005-2008	:	Fieldwork and data collection by PEN partners
2007-2010	:	Data analysis and writing, both of case studies, thematic groups and global syntheses work

2. Research guidelines:

End 2005

(1) Prototype questionnaires

(2) Technical guidelines on definitions, use of questionnaire, and fieldwork

(3) Code book

May 2006

Data base for data entry in MS Access

2007

Program (in Stata) for data cleaning & consistency checking, and aggregation of data Guidelines on methods for data analysis

3. Workshops:

22 - 25 September 2004	:	Kick-off workshop in Bogor, Indonesia for first batch of (potential) PEN partners and resource persons..
15 - 18 August 2005	:	Workshop Brisbane, Australia, for second batch of (potential) PEN partners. Focus on the broad forest-poverty link, and data collection and fieldwork methodologies.
15 - 16 May 2006		Workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark for third batch of (potential) partners.
January 2008	:	Workshop for partners on data analysis, presentation of field research results, and inputs for global analysis
2009	:	Workshop for partners, with presentation of results
2010	:	Final results international conference
