Research Themes And Components

The research program can be classified into four themes where each theme is further divided into individual research components located in the three study locations.

• Forest products and markets
• Study on forest products, markets and livelihood links (including GIS data base development) in Meghalaya, India.

• Study on potential of bamboo sector in improving income opportunities in Guangxi, China.

• Analysis of social-structural opportunities and constraints to livelihoods improvements of the marginal groups from forests in Nepal.
• Study of community-based forest enterprises institutions in Nepal.
• Study on facilitating producers cooperatives for forest products in Guangxi, China.
• Strategies of NRM projects
• Analysis of the changes in livelihoods due to forest-based interventions by NERCRMP in Meghalaya.
• Review of experiences of Community Forestry and Leasehold Forestry programs in Nepal in addressing livelihoods improvement of the poor.
