    The objective of the workshop is to bring together approximately twenty experienced personnel from conservation organisations, development organisations and government departments working in five landscapes in Cambodia (Central Cardamoms Protected Forest, Phnom Samkos Wildlife Sanctuary, Mondulkiri Protected Forest, Seima Biodiversity Conservation Area and Virachey National Park) to compare landscapes, threats and strategies of implemented biodiversity conservation projects.

    This workshop will be held as part of CIFOR's Lower Mekong Conservation and Development Project. The workshop, like the project, aims to gain a better understanding of the issues, synergies and tradeoffs of conservation and development at landscapes where a biodiversity conservation project is implemented by government or an international agency. more

  • Modeling Conservation and Development Outcomes: Training Course on participatory modeling, September 10-14, 2007, Vietnam

    Interdisciplinary and action oriented approaches are gradually gaining ground and acceptance as important tools in conservation-development research. In this international research and training course we will provide an overview of such approaches, and explore some of these approaches to build visions of the future. To build these visions we will use participatory simulation modeling tools (using the STELLA software). more
