Database: community forest management in tropical America

The database “Manejo Forestal Comunitario en América Tropical” is a computer-based tool for finding bibliographic information about community forest management (CFM) in tropical America. It provides a wealth of material, including: records of books, articles, series, laws and other documents related to CFM experiences, concepts and outcomes.

CIFOR researchers designed the database as a tool to help foresters conduct or support CFM initiatives in the region and to provide information to anyone working in forestry. Developed with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic, this database allows you not only to consult information, but also to update, add or remove records. Available in Spanish only.

*) Installation instructions:

  1. Please download the zipped folder, open it and click on SETUP. An MS Access icon will appear on your desktop.
  2. Double-click the MS. Access icon to open the database.
  3. Keep the zipped folder on your computer as you will need it to uninstall the application
  4. If you want to uninstall the database, open Control Panel, choose “install or uninstall programs”, select “MFC en América tropical: Bibliografía anotada”, and press uninstall
