Forest Day 3 Sub-plenaries

Forest Day 3 will feature three parallel Sub-plenary Sessions. Each will last two hours.

The objectives of the Sub-plenary Sessions are to provide a global, policy-level overview of key issues related to forests and climate change; present new scientific findings; and explore the drivers of deforestation, both from within and beyond the forest sector.

The Sub-plenary Sessions will focus on:

  1. Forests and climate change mitigation
Organisers: Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)

  2. Forests and adaptation to climate change
Organisers: Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO)

  3. Forest degradation and restoration
Organisers: International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Conservation Union (IUCN) and Secretariat of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF)

Each Sub-plenary Session will feature a panel of leading thinkers and opinion shapers on these topics, and will be structured to encourage audience interaction.

Panelists will be announced soon.
