Mitigation Activities in the Forestry Sector in Turkey

Forests have an effect on the protection of air, water and soil. As Turkey is currently on the way to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, the General Directorate of Forestry has increased emission control activities, which can be listed as follows:
- Functional Planning and Implementing
- Protection activities (Turkey has about 21.2 million ha. of forest and most of the forests are located in fire sensitive areas.)
