Compensation and Benefits for National Staff

National Staff in Indonesia

Salary Ranges
National Staff receive a competitive salary paid in Rupiahs. There are eight grade levels of National staff (ranging from the lowest which is grade H, to the highest which is grade A) which encompasses positions at both professional and support levels.

Cost Of Living Adjustment
National staff will receive a cost of living adjustment based on the increase in an appropriate consumer price index. 

Annual Bonus
A bonus equivalent to one month's salary will be paid to each staff member at the time of the Lebaran celebrations.

Provident Fund
CIFOR provides national staff members with a defined contribution provident fund. CIFOR contributes 12.5% of the monthly base salary.

Insurances
CIFOR provides all national staff with an insurance package, covering medical benefits, business travel, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment. Dependants are covered for medical benefits only.

Emergency cash advance
National staff members may, from time to time, ask for general and/or medical emergency cash advance. General emergency cash advances are restricted to school fees, emergency repairs to housing facilities and advanced house rent.  Medical emergency cash advances are restricted to outpatient, dental, annual medical and eye examinations.

Loans
The purpose of the policy is to assist staff members to purchase a home or vehicle by permitting interest free loans against the separation payments already accrued to the staff member.

Leave

  • 15 days of vacation leave per year; at the first day of every calendar year and after one year of employment will earn one additional day of annual leave for each additional year of service, up to a maximum of twenty days
  • 10 sick leave days per year.
  • 12 weeks maternity leave
  • 2 weeks paternity leave
  • 2 weeks days adoption leave
  • 5 days compassionate leave

Separation allowance
CIFOR provides a separation payment to staff who have completed their assignment with CIFOR. The payment will be equivalent to one-month base salary for each completed year of service up to a maximum of twelve months base salary.

National staff in regional locations

For National staff outside headquarters, CIFOR offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package that varies according to the location of the duty station that the position is based in. Information on the general conditions of the package offered can be provided by the relevant office at each location.
