The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation, and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. With headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia and offices in Asia, Africa and South America, CIFOR works in over 30 countries worldwide and has links with researchers in 50 international, regional and national organisations. CIFOR is a member of the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research).
CIFOR is looking for a dynamic and visionary Deputy Director General.
The Deputy Director General is responsible for leading, planning, executing, managing, and monitoring CIFOR’s global research for development activities. This role requires coordination of activities across three research programs and six cross-cutting research domain teams, in addition to support from information, human resources, and finance and administration services units.

Terms of Appointment:
The appointment will be for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of extension. Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience. The salary is paid in US dollars. Benefits include relocation, education subsidy, housing allowance, paid annual home leave travel, a pension scheme, life and health insurance package, vehicle for business and personal use.
The position will be based in Bogor, Indonesia.
