The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation, and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. With headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia and offices in Asia, Africa and South America, CIFOR works in over 30 countries worldwide and has links with researchers in 50 international, regional and national organisations. CIFOR is looking for an Impact Assessment Scientist to conduct
Natural Resources Impact Assessment, Monitoring and Reporting

Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the strategic planning and prioritisation of research investments
  2. Assist scientists with grant proposal development, plan their research so as to achieve greatest possible impact.
  3. Work closely with programme directors and researchers to ensure robust design stage and to clarify impact pathways, suggest means and approaches to maximize any multiplier impacts, and conduct ex ante impact assessment.
  4. Design impact tracking and monitoring protocols to ensure that project/research impacts are well documented and eventually adequately assessed and ensure compliance with centre mission and project objectives.
  5. Contribute to the input of CIFOR to CGIAR and partner organisation impact assessments.
  6. Support preparation of centre documents such as the medium-term plan, annual plans and impact studies.
  7. Contribute to the centre's research and training on impact assessment.
