In Case of Emergency
We assign a duty officer to be on call when the offices in Bogor are closed. The duty officer serves as an emergency contact person for our staff and visitors. An emergency can be a problem with immigration or local authorities, changes to travel arrangements, problems with vehicles and medical emergencies. Staff, their families and CIFOR visitors will have access to the cellular phone number of the duty officer.
The duty officer can mobilize support to help you deal with emergencies. For medical emergencies, they can arrange for advance payments, transport or translation support if needed and advise other CIFOR staff about the situation. If your flight schedule changes they can update the airport pickup arrangements and inform the guesthouse or other accommodations you have arranged.
